Networking At It's Finest

GET OUT!!

And no I'm not talking about the movie. And this has nothing to do with being negative either.

I'm talking about getting outside more. Touching the grass and shaking more hands. For the last month I've locked myself away and averaged 3 meetings per week. Half of them were over zoom or google meets.

Outside of hanging out with my girlfriend, I've had very little human interaction. For context the month before, July 2025, I was averaging 25 meetings a week.. that's 100 meeting a month.

So why am I talking about this and why was I locked inside the last 5 weeks. ONE WORD...

SYSTEMS

I had to build the systems for the business Flow Forward Creative and Flow Forward Media for it to take on more clients at scale. I see a lot of business owners never implement the right systems which ultimately leads to there demise (hand on and keep reading there's a point to this)

Systems become the life line of any business when they grow massively. I'm preparing for that massive growth now.. Anyways let me get back to the point.

So I spent 5 weeks locked inside building internal ops. It was great.. until it wasn't. I felt flat, tired, and honestly anti social. It wasn't because I didn't sleep, I worked out everyday, I went outside (most days) as well. It was because I was lacking 1 simple thing..

COMMUNITY

See what we often fail to realize in this world of hustle and bustle culture is that life becomes much more enjoyable with community. Even in Dallas, we can get so caught up in trying to stay afloat and make it to the next level of our careers that we forget about community, relationships, and sharing moments with the people around us.

Last night, I went to Mockingbird Social, a men's networking event for young, hungry, ambitious dudes that want to reach their potential. My buddy Jacob Stayman actually founded it (great guy btw). Anyways, it was the first time in a very long time that I've spent my time building community (5 weeks to be exact, that's a long time for an extravert).

The people I met last night were absolutely incredible, it energized me, it motivated me, and I left home feeling even more pumped up than how I was when I walked in the room. It was all because I GOT OUT. I got out of my house, I closed the laptop, I got over a social fear (that builds up when you stop networking), and shook as many hands as I could.

One of the key things I made sure to do that whole night is ask questions, get value from the person across from them, share a laugh, hear their story, and always pay them a compliment or two... you never know when the last time they received a compliment was. I love doing this, I'd much rather hear you talk than hearing myself talk.

For the 1st time in 5 weeks I felt like I was BACK. back to myself.

There will be seasons that you need to be caged away and focused. There will be seasons where you NEED to meet people. There will be season where you're happy, sad, tired, and confused, all at the same time.

But there's one thing that must stay the same regardless of where you're at in life.
